My adventures in noise began in the mid 90’s as a DJ, learning the ropes from my father who was a mobile DJ in Portland, Maine in the 80’s. I began sampling records and producing hip hop tracks with an MPC in the early aughts, producing, recording, and mixing for, and performing with local emcees in Columbus, Ohio.

With an education in multimedia and digital audio/video, I moved to NYC in 2009 to pursue a career in filmmaking but ended up working mostly in theatre for the next decade. Working with Five OHM Productions, I honed my skills as an A1 sound mixer, production audio engineer, and sound designer in the world of off-Broadway theatre and the live event industry. In 2019 I joined the cruise industry as an associate sound designer for theatrical productions on board Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Having never given up the passion for filmmaking, I have worked on many films over the years as a production sound mixer as well as post production mixer and am actively seeking more work in this field.

Being introduced to sound synthesis through Reason by a college professor, I taught myself as much as I could with that program as well as Ableton Live. This prompted me to turn away from sampling records for hip hop production and move more into original electronic music. I began building and experimenting with modular synthesizers in 2018 and have been performing live under the moniker Crew Called Self mostly with New York Modular Society and have released several albums with Halo Askew Entertainment. Catch me performing live in a city near you soon!
